Copyright Policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

At ZingTales, we believe that language should never be a barrier to knowledge, literature, or learning.

ZingTales is an AI-powered platform that helps readers, authors, researchers, and book lovers work with books and documents across languages and formats.

Our goal is to make books more accessible while respecting the intellectual property rights of authors, publishers, illustrators, and other creators.

1. How You Can Use ZingTales

ZingTales is designed for several purposes.

For Readers

Readers can use ZingTales to extract text from books and documents and translate it into a language they understand.

For example:

  • Reading a philosophy book originally written in French in your preferred language.
  • Understanding historical works written in another language.
  • Translating educational materials for personal learning and research.
  • Exploring literature, science, spirituality, and other subjects across languages.

These features are intended to help users access and understand content. However, personal or educational use does not automatically make every copyrighted translation lawful. Users must have the necessary rights, permissions, or a valid legal exception.

For Authors and Content Creators

Authors can use ZingTales to bring their work to readers across the world.

For example:

  • Translating an original book into multiple languages.
  • Preparing multilingual editions of self-published books.
  • Making educational or research content accessible to international audiences.
  • Extracting and transforming manuscripts for further editing.

Authors must own or control the relevant rights, or have appropriate permission, before translating, publishing, selling, or distributing transformed content.

Coming Soon

We are exploring additional features, including:

  • Audiobook Creation: Convert books and documents into audio for listening.
  • Book Summarization: Generate concise summaries of books and long documents.

These features will also be subject to this Copyright Policy and applicable copyright laws.

2. What You Can Upload

You may upload and transform content through ZingTales when you have a lawful basis to do so.

This may include situations where:

  • You own the copyright to the content, including your own books, manuscripts, or original notes.
  • You have obtained permission or a suitable license from the copyright holder.
  • The work is in the public domain in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Your intended use is permitted under an applicable copyright exception or limitation, such as certain forms of private study, research, or other legally recognized uses.

Purchasing or possessing a physical book, eBook, or PDF does not automatically grant permission to translate, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit it.

Users are responsible for ensuring that their uploads and intended transformations comply with applicable laws and any relevant licensing terms.

3. Personal Reading and Commercial Use

ZingTales supports both personal reading and authorized content creation.

Personal reading and learning

You may use ZingTales to translate or otherwise transform content for personal reading, learning, or research where you have the necessary rights or an applicable legal exception permits that use.

Publishing and commercial distribution

If you intend to publish, sell, distribute, or publicly share translated books, audiobooks, summaries, or other transformed content, you are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions and licenses.

A translation, audiobook, or other adaptation may involve rights belonging to the original copyright holder, even when generated using AI.

ZingTales does not grant users any rights to the underlying works they upload.

4. Ownership of Your Content

You retain whatever ownership and intellectual property rights you hold in the content you upload.

ZingTales does not claim ownership of your original books, manuscripts, documents, or other uploaded materials.

By uploading content, you authorize ZingTales to process it as necessary to provide the services you request, including text extraction, translation, and other available transformations.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights or legal authority required to grant this authorization.

ZingTales does not guarantee that AI-generated output is eligible for copyright protection or free from third-party rights.

5. Your Documents Are Private

Documents uploaded to ZingTales are intended to remain private to your account.

ZingTales does not provide a public publishing or document-sharing feature.

Uploaded documents and generated outputs are processed to deliver the services requested by users.

Authorized service providers may process content where necessary to operate these features, subject to applicable privacy and security arrangements.

For more information about data handling, storage, retention, and deletion, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. Responsible Use

Users must not use ZingTales to:

  • Upload or transform copyrighted material without a lawful basis.
  • Publish, sell, or distribute unauthorized translations or adaptations.
  • Circumvent copyright protections or digital rights management restrictions unlawfully.
  • Misrepresent another author's work as their own.
  • Use the platform in ways that infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

ZingTales reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and restrict access to content or accounts where appropriate.
